 WHO IS BAD ASS COFFEE?
Bad Ass Coffee of Salt Lake City, is a gourmet coffee shop specializing in Hawaiian Kona coffee. Grown on the mountainsides of Hawaiian volcanoes, it is one of the most flavorful and sought after coffees in the world and the only coffee grown in the United States!
From its start on the Big Island of Hawaii in July of 1989 Bad Ass Coffee has become one of the largest sellers of Kona coffee in the world. In 1995, Michael Bilanzich of Salt Lake City, Utah purchased Royal Aloha Coffee, Tea & Spice Company and the Bad Ass Coffee Company. The first Bad Ass store opened in Salt Lake City in May 1995 at its current location at 3530 South State Street.
THE LEGEND: A BEAST OF BURDEN The bellows of the donkeys could be heard echoing through the mountains as they hauled the heavy loads of coffee up and down the mountain side. In honor of these hard working donkeys, we named our coffee company.
The legendary "Bad Ass" attitude is expressed throughout our business and in the products we represent: the world's best coffee and a line of merchandise expressed in the attitude of a bellowing donkey. The legend of the Kona Nightingale lives on and is the heart of The Bad Ass Coffee Company.
